Charles is a Shenzhen-based entrepreneur and the founder of TechVoyage. For years he has worked around the city's technology and hardware supply-chain ecosystem, watching overseas visitors arrive curious about the "city of the future" and leave having only glimpsed it through a taxi window. He started TechVoyage to change that — to give visitors a way to actually get inside the technology, rather than just read headlines about it.
He personally scouts and walks every route TechVoyage runs: the robotaxi pickup points, the robotics showrooms, the Huaqiangbei markets and the factory floors. If a stop doesn't deliver in person, it doesn't make it onto an itinerary.
For private and business groups, Charles arranges in-depth visits through local industry networks — including Shenzhen's high-tech promotion bodies — that open doors to company meetings, internal showrooms and, where available, production and R&D spaces. These are different from the public showrooms any visitor can walk into, and most require business introductions and several days' advance notice. He is candid about what is and isn't possible for a given set of dates, rather than over-promising a generic showroom and calling it a factory tour.
